How does Voltarol 12 Hour Emulgel work?

Diclofenac, the active ingredient in Voltarol Emulgel, belongs to a family of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). They work by reducing the amount produced in the body of a chemical called prostaglandins, which are one of the body’s biggest contributors to inflammation.

For typical muscle aches, pains and injuries, Voltarol will begin to work one to two days after beginning treatment. For more serious or chronic pains, such as arthritis, it may take a week for the gel to start working.

How should I use Voltarol 12 Hour Emulgel?

Squeeze a small amount of gel onto the affected area – equivalent to the size of a one or two penny piece. Rub the gel into the skin until it is absorbed, and then wash your hands.
