The mini pill is a progesterone-only contraceptive medication for preventing pregnancy. It’s over 99% effective and is now available over-the-counter as Hana.

Hana desogestrel tablets are an effective birth control, preventing pregnancy in three key ways. Firstly, Hana prevents ovulation during the menstrual cycle. Secondly, Hana thickens the mucus in the cervix to make it harder for sperm to reach an egg. Thirdly, Hana reduces the lining of the womb, making it more difficult for a fertilised egg to implant itself.
