What is Solpadeine Headache?

Solpadeine Headache is an over-the-counter pain relief treatment that contains paracetamol and caffeine. They’re soluble, which means they can be dissolved in water to take.

What is Solpadeine Headache used for?

These painkillers are suitable for a variety of typical aches, pains and common illnesses, including:

  • Headaches
  • Migraines
  • Backache
  • Toothache
  • Joint pain
  • Painful periods
  • Cold, flu and sore throat symptoms

How does Solpadeine Headache work?

Solpadeine Headache has a dual-action formula that works to relieve pains and aches quickly and effectively.

Paracetamol, the treatment’s active ingredient, is a popular painkiller that works by blocking chemical messengers in the brain that tell us we have pain. It also affects the part of the brain that regulates body temperature, which reduces fever as a result.

Caffeine, Solpadeine Headache’s other main ingredient, works by speeding up the effects of paracetamol. By reducing the amount of time it takes for the paracetamol to take effect, the caffeine ensures Solpadeine Headache acts quicker than other painkillers.

How long does it take Solpadeine Headache to work?

The treatment is said to take effect within 30 minutes, making it twice as quick as paracetamol alone.

How should I take Solpadeine Headache?

Adults and children aged 16 and above should take two tablets dissolved in water every four to six hours as required, up to a maximum of eight tablets a day. Do not take more frequently than every four hours.

Children aged 12-15 years should take one tablet every four to six hours as required, up to a maximum of four tablets a day. They should not take more than four tablets a day.

Who can’t take Solpadeine Headache?

Paracetamol is an extremely common painkiller, and therefore safe for the majority of people who use it. However, it isn’t suitable for everyone.

Consult your GP or a pharmacist if you:

  • Have had an allergic reaction to paracetamol or any other medicines in the past
  • Have kidney or liver problems
  • Drink more than 14 units of alcohol a week
  • Are taking epilepsy medication
  • Are being treated for tuberculosis (TB)
  • Are on blood thinners

Avoid drinking caffeinated drinks such as tea or coffee while taking Solpadeine Headache.

How should I store Solpadeine Headache?

Solpadeine Headache should be stored in a dry, cool environment that does not exceed 25°C.
