PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Risdone-Plus Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of schizophrenia. It works by modulating the action of certain chemical messengers in the brain that affect thoughts.

Risdone-Plus Tablet is taken with or without food, preferably at night. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. It is important not to stop this medicine suddenly without talking to the doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.

Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Do not stop taking it unless advised by the doctor. It can take several weeks for your symptoms to improve; so keep using the medicine even if you do not think it is working.
 

HOW TO USE RISDONE-PLUS TABLET

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Risdone-Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
 

HOW RISDONE-PLUS TABLET WORKS

Risdone-Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Risperidone and Trihexyphenidyl. Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic which works by balancing the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts, and behavior. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic which works on the nervous system and corrects some of the chemical imbalances that cause Parkinson’s disease and certain side effects occurring during antipsychotic treatment.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE RISDONE-PLUS TABLET?

If you miss a dose of Risdone-Plus Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
