BENEFITS OF PENTASA GRANULES

In Ulcerative colitis

Ulcerative colitis is a disease of the large intestine (colon) and rectum in which the lining of the bowel becomes red and swollen. This can lead to bleeding, frequent diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Pentasa 2gm Prolonged Release Granules can relieve these symptoms and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. There are many different brands and your doctor will decide which is most suitable for you. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

In Crohn’s disease

Crohn’s disease is a chronic (long-term) inflammatory disease of the intestines. The most common symptoms are diarrhea and pain in your abdomen. Pentasa 2gm Prolonged Release Granules helps reduce the inflammation, relieve the symptoms, and prevent them from coming back.

HOW TO USE PENTASA GRANULES

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Empty the granules in a glass of water/milk, stir it and consume immediately. Pentasa 2gm Prolonged Release Granules may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

HOW PENTASA GRANULES WORKS

Pentasa 2gm Prolonged Release Granules is an aminosalicylate. It works by suppressing the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause inflammation (swelling) in the intestines. This reduces ulceration, bleeding and stomach pain, and prevents future flare-ups of the disease.
