Assurans Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension). It relieves breathlessness and improves exercise capacity in men and women. This slows down the progression of your illness.
Assurans Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors. It may be taken on an empty stomach or with a meal, but it should be taken at a fixed time each day. The dose and how often you need to take it will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms. Follow the advice of your doctor. It is important to take this medicine regularly and for as long as you are advised, even if you feel well. Missing doses may lead to the worsening of your condition.
This medicine can be dangerous to take along with medicines called nitrates (often given for chest pain). Do not take this medicine if you have severe heart or liver problems, if you have recently had a stroke or heart attack or if you have low blood pressure. Let your doctor know if you suffer from these or any other health problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. You should not drive if this medicine makes you feel dizzy. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it increases the chances of side effects.

Assurans Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called PDE5 inhibitors. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in your penis. This allows blood to flow into the penis and produce an erection when sexually aroused. This medicine will only help get an erection if you are sexually stimulated. It is very effective but needs to be taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity.
Do not take this medicine if you also take medicines called nitrates (often given for chest pain).

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Assurans Tablet.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Assurans Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Assurans Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Use of Assurans Tablet is not indicated in women.
Assurans Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Assurans Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Assurans Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. A lowering of dose may be considered if it is not well-tolerated.
Assurans Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Assurans Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
There is limited information available on the use of Assurans Tablet in patients with severe liver disease.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE ASSURANS TABLET?
If you miss a dose of Assurans 20 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Q. Why is the use of Assurans Tablet contraindicated with nitrates?
Use of Assurans Tablet is harmful for patients taking nitrates or blood pressure-lowering medicines as their combined use can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, which can also result in death. However, if these medicines are to be taken together then it is advised to keep a time gap of 24 hours between the intake of Penegra and blood pressure-lowering medicines.
Q. Why does Assurans Tablet cause a fall in blood pressure (hypotension)?
Assurans Tablet has the property of relaxing the smooth muscle of the blood vessels and widening them which can cause a fall in blood pressure (hypotension). So, when used with blood pressure lowering medicines or nitrates, it can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, which could be fatal. Assurans Tablet should not be taken if you are taking nitrates for chest pain or you have a history of heart attack or stroke in the past 6 months.
Q. Is Assurans Tablet safe to use in patients with diabetes?
Yes, if prescribed by your doctor then Assurans Tablet is safe to use in patients with diabetes.
Q. Can I take Assurans Tablet as often as I want?
No, do not take Assurans Tablet for more than once a day. If you take more Assurans Tablet than the recommended dose then you may experience an increase in side effects and their severity. These side effects include flushing, headache, muscle pain, stomach upset, allergic reactions and vision changes such as blurred vision. Contact your doctor if Assurans Tablet does not help you to get an erection, or if your erection does not last long enough for you to complete sexual intercourse.

Take Assurans Tablet about 1 hour before you plan to have sex. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Inform your doctor if you feel the effect of Assurans Tablet is too strong or too weak.
Q. Can I drink alcohol while on Assurans Tablet?
Drinking alcohol can temporarily impair your ability to get an erection. To get the maximum benefit from Assurans Tablet, it is advised to not drink excessive amounts of alcohol before taking Assurans Tablet.
