PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Rivamer 3 Capsule is used to treat mild to moderate dementia in Alzheimer’s disease, a progressive illness that gradually affects memory and thinking. It is also used for dementia-associated Parkinson’s disease. It does not cure these illnesses but may help improve memory, awareness, and other symptoms.
Your doctor will explain how to take Rivamer 3 Capsule. Follow the instructions carefully to get the most benefit. The dose may change from time to time to suit your individual needs. You may take it with food, preferably at night before going to bed. It can take up to a few weeks for symptoms to improve so keep taking your medicine regularly. You should not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.
Before using Rivamer 3 Capsule, you should tell your doctor if you’ve ever had heart problems, stomach ulcers, epilepsy, or asthma. It may also affect, or be affected by, some other drugs you are using so let your doctor know what these are to be safe. During pregnancy, this medicine should only be taken if it is advised.

In people with Alzheimer’s disease, certain nerve cells die in the brain. This results in lower levels of a chemical called acetylcholine which helps nerve cells to communicate with each other. Rivamer 3 Capsule increases the amount of acetylcholine and helps brain cells to communicate. HOW TO USE RIVAMER CAPSULE
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Rivamer 3 Capsule is to be taken with food.
HOW RIVAMER CAPSULE WORKS
Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease occurs due to disturbances of signal transmission in the brain. Rivamer 3 Capsule is a cholinesterase inhibitor. It works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) involved in transmmission of nerve signals. This improves memory and thinking.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE RIVAMER CAPSULE?
If you miss a dose of Rivamer 3 Capsule, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Yes, antacids can be taken while taking Rivamer 3 Capsule as they do not interfere with the working of Rivamer 3 Capsule. Moreover, Rivamer 3 Capsule may cause increased acid secretion in the stomach in some patients. Your doctor may prescribe an antacid to relieve this acidity.

Taking more than the recommended doses of Rivamer 3 Capsule may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, tremor, headache, sleepiness, hallucinations, and malaise. Higher doses may also cause confusion, increased sweating, and an increase in blood pressure. In case you take an overdose of Rivamer 3 Capsule, seek immediate medical attention.

Yes, Rivamer 3 Capsule can cause drowsiness or sleepiness, especially at the start of treatment or when increasing the dose. If you feel dizzy or sleepy, do not drive, use machines or perform any tasks that require your attention.
Q. Can I stop taking Rivamer 3 Capsule?
You should not stop or change the dose of Rivamer 3 Capsule without consulting your doctor. However, if treatment is interrupted for more than three days, then do not take the medicine and consult your doctor. The doctor will re-initiate the treatment with a low dose twice a day. The dose can then be increased gradually as was done previously.

Yes, Rivamer 3 Capsule can cause hallucinations. However, hallucinations are reported very rarely with the use of Rivamer 3 Capsule, which means they occur in very few people. It may usually occur shortly after dose increase.
