PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Ranozex Tablet ER is used for the management of angina (heart-related chest pain). It helps to prevent new attacks of angina but does not stop an acute attack, once started. It relieves chest pain by making the heart work more efficiently.

Ranozex Tablet ER should be taken in the dose as advised by your doctor, at the same time each day. It should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. Your doctor will decide how often you should take this medicine. This may change from time to time depending on how well it is working. You should take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit, even if you feel fine. It is preventing future harm. If you stop taking it, your chest pain may come back.

Ranozex Tablet ER may not suitable for some people. Tell your doctor if you are suffering from any liver or kidney problems. Also let your doctor know all other medications you are using as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. This medicine is not usually recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE RANOZEX TABLET ER?

If you miss a dose of Ranozex Tablet ER, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Q. What are the serious side effects of Ranozex Tablet ER?

Ranozex Tablet ER may cause changes in the electrical activity of the heart which is known as QT prolongation. Your doctor may get regular tests done to check the electrical activity of your heart. Tell your doctor right away if you feel faint, lightheaded or if your heart starts beating irregularly or fast, as these may be symptoms of QT prolongation. Ranozex Tablet ER may also cause kidney failure in patients who already have kidney problems. Therefore, your doctor may need to do tests to check how your kidneys are working.

Q. I started taking Ranozex Tablet ER about a week ago. Now I have noticed that my urine has become very dark though I am taking plenty of fluids. Is there anything to worry about?

Urine discoloration could be because of Ranozex Tablet ER. You need not worry if you do not have any other symptoms. However, if it still bothers you, you can talk to your doctor who will advise you further.

Q. In case I accidentally take an excess of Ranozex Tablet ER, what will happen?

Excess of Ranozex Tablet ER can cause nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, double vision, tiredness, severe tremor, confusion, hallucinations, difficulty in speaking and walking and you can even faint. If you have taken an excess of Ranozex Tablet ER by mistake, call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical care in a nearby hospital.

Q. Is it safe to take Ranozex Tablet ER if I am already taking metoprolol?

Yes, it is safe to take the Ranozex Tablet ER and Metoprolol together. Ranozex Tablet ER has minimal effect on blood pressure in patients with angina.

Q. I am a diabetic and am taking metformin. My doctor has prescribed Ranozex Tablet ER, is it safe to take both together?

If you are taking metformin along with Ranozex Tablet ER, you have to be careful since Ranozex Tablet ER may increase the levels of metformin in the body which can lead to metformin toxicity. Talk to your doctor who will modify the dose of metformin.

Q. I have been taking simvastatin to keep my cholesterol levels in check. Can I take Ranozex Tablet ER with it?

It is recommended not to take simvastatin and Ranozex Tablet ER together because it may cause simvastatin toxicity which may lead to symptoms like muscle weakness and soreness, fatigue, decreased urination, etc. Let your doctor know that you are already taking simvastatin. If it is still necessary to take, then take it exactly as advised by the doctor.
