PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Olimelt 5 Tablet MD is used in the treatment of schizophrenia (a mental disorder that can result in hallucinations or delusions and also adversely affects a person’s ability to think and behave) and mania.
Olimelt 5 Tablet MD may be taken with or without food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. This medication mustn’t be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.
However, this medicine may increase your weight, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels but, modifying your lifestyle by having a healthy diet and exercising regularly can reduce this side effect. You should be cautious as in rare cases it may cause serious side effects like very high blood sugar levels or seizures.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE OLIMELT TABLET MD?
If you miss a dose of Olimelt 5 Tablet MD, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Schizophrenia is a mental illness that causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions. Olimelt 5 Tablet MD also helps with bipolar disorder (manic depressive disorder). It is a disease that causes episodes of depression, mania, and other abnormal moods.

Olimelt 5 Tablet MD can cause serious side effects which include increased risk of death in elderly people who are confused, have memory loss and have lost touch with reality (dementia-related psychosis). Furthermore, it may cause weight gain and high fat levels in the blood which is more common in teenagers.

This is because sudden discontinuation of the medicine may cause unpleasant side effects which include sweating, unable to sleep, tremor, anxiety or nausea, and vomiting. To avoid such effects, your doctor will reduce the dose gradually before stopping the treatment.
Q. Does smoking or alcohol interfere with working of Olimelt 5 Tablet MD?
Yes, smoking interferes with working of Olimelt 5 Tablet MD causing an increase in its metabolism. One should avoid alcohol while taking Olimelt 5 Tablet MD since it may cause more drowsiness. However, if you are a smoker then your doctor may increase your dose depending on your response to treatment.
