How does Calpol Infant Oral Suspension work?

Paracetamol is the active ingredient in Calpol Infant Oral Suspension, and it works in the same way it does when adults take it. The only difference is that, while adults take up to 1000mg of paracetamol to reduce fever and relieve pain, infants and young children can’t take as high a dose. The suspension in Calpol Infant only contains small amounts of paracetamol adequate for treating general symptoms of illness in children.

You should notice your child’s pain and fever reducing around 15 minutes after administering the medication.
